MATERIALS ON CD AND DVD
As an alternative to using e-mail, you can have your files delivered to Arti Grafiche Villa on CDs and DVDs by post or courier.

ACCEPTED FILE FORMATS:

FOR PROCESSING
To process the files received Arti Grafiche Villa uses both Mac 1 and Windows platforms 1.

Jobs can be completed using various programs:
1 ILLUSTRATOR CS3 (or earlier)
1 PHOTOSHOP CS3 (or earlier)
1 INDESIGN CS3 (or earlier)
1 QUARK XPRESS 6.5 (or earlier)
1 COREL DRAW X3 (or earlier)
1 FREEHAND MX (or earlier)
1 WORD
Or they can be exported with the following extensions:
.EPS (in overlays)
.PDF
.JPG
.TIFF
.BITMAP
.PS
In general, it is better to use:
1 ILLUSTRATOR CS3 (for Mac1)
1 PHOTOSHOP CS3 (for Mac1)
1 INDESIGN CS3 (for Mac1)



FOR PRINTING OUTPUT
In order to proceed directly to printing, the files sent must be created exclusively in format:
High resolution 1 PDF
Arti Grafiche Villa will not accept documents produced in different formats.
In actual fact, the PDF format can be read by all operating system (both Mac and Windows). What is more, it is a small file format that is reliable and easy to transfer by e-mail, but still offers high quality.
In order for a PDF Post Script to be suitable for printing it must have some essential requisites.


Here are some basic parameters for preparing the PDF document:

1 always use an AdobePS - Acrobat Distiller printer;

1 the dimensions of the PDF document must not be modified. The format must be in 1:1 scale;

1 any blank pages that are foreseen in the document must, in any case, be included in the PDF;

1 you must check that the pages are in the correct sequence;

1 all the pages in the document must be centred, both horizontally and vertically;

1 always verify the correct overprint of objects and colours;

1 it is essential that each page has at least 3mm bleed from the crop marks;

1 the crop marks must appear on each separation plate and must be in registration black;

1 each Font used must be included in the document, or converted to overlays;

1 each coloured image must be converted to CMYK. It must also have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. RGB or LAB colouring should be avoided;

1 all images in black and white must be converted to Greyscale with a resolution of 300 dpi;

1 line images must be converted to bitmap with a resolution of at least 1200 dpi;

1 if the job foresees printing with 4 CMYK colours, all the Pantone colours in the document must be converted to four-colour reproduction;

1 in the event that the job foresees printing in Pantone colours, all the Pantone colours must appear on the separation list, the remaining colours must be converted to CMYK.

Arti Grafiche Villa cannot be held responsible for damaged or malfunctioning files.

Before sending a document to print, Arti Grafiche Villa will also produce a draft that will need to receive express approval, before proceeding to the actual printing stage.
